Who knew it would be such a stretch? A few years back I created and sold a DVD teaching people how to paint a mandala on silk. It was a lot of fun to make and put out there, but after a while I put the project to one side as it was quite something having to individually burn the discs at the time.
I continue to be asked if I offer classes in any form and I have always responded with the same answer: “I’m thinking about it.” Well, the thinking has come to an end, and now I am actively working on making this a reality. Right now it is a resounding yes. It’s time to get my online silk painting classes out there.
To be honest, I have been painting on silk for over 20 years, constantly learning and refining my technique. And now it is time to share the experience and know-how that I have amassed in that time. Many of you may not know, but I have a teaching background and this is really up my street.
But on the technical side it’s quite an experience for me, considering that I’m no longer 30 years old. While I am very relaxed with sharing my expertise and standing in front of the camera, I need to learn how to use some more up-to-date video editing software. And I am revisiting Audacity so that I can polish up my voice-overs. There are moments when this seems to be over-stretching me and yet, the yes persists and I am trusting and moving forward with this. I reckon I may have quite a few more grey hairs before I am done.
There are going to be several bite-sized courses which I’m sure you’ll love. And I’m aiming to have the first of these up and running within the next 4 months.
Ha! It takes me back while catapaulting me forward into a whole new space all at once. I’m excited about this journey. If you’d like to keep up to date with me on this journey as well as be able to get special prices on my courses, do join my mailing list to be the first to hear (see link at top right for VIP mailing list or see below).
I so look forward to sharing more with you as I go.
